Yeah, I suppose it's better the evil you know than the evil you don't know in this case...but ANYTHING has to be better than Eisner...right? _________________ You can never have too much Baklava.

"Aladdin" was in Opus in the Sunday comics. (At least for the Philadelphia Inquirer.) They made him evil, but oh well. I don't have a camera, but here's what happened:
Old Guy with boxers on: (to Opus, who is in PJ's right outside of his room) It's 3 AM. Go back to bed.
Opus: There's a bunch of DISNEY folks in my room.
Old guy: Disney? Oh, NOT your anxiety closet...
Opus: I definitely think things have been getting a little off-track at Walt's place lately. These guys are polarized! Disconnected! ...Adrift and losing their sense of shared community...
Old guy: LEMME TELL YOU SOMETHING! WHERE DISNEY GOES, AMERICA GOES! DISNEY IS AMERICA!! You think this country is off-track?
Opus: Uh...
Old Guy: NOW GET BACK TO THE HAPPY KINGDOM!!
Opus: But... But... But...
(Opus goes back into his room, where we see Aladdin dressed in his purple vest and white pants with terrorist weapons and one of those cloth things on his face. Jasmine is dresses in a dark blue gown with her face totally covered like a modern middle-eastern woman. Timon is dangling Jiminy Cricket in front of Pumbaa, who is licking his lips. Mary Poppins is holding out a dish with meat on it in one hand, and Donald Duck's hat in the other, as if it was the dish's lid.)
Aladdin: QUICK, JASMINE! GRAB THE TUBBY INFIDEL! BACK TO BAGHDAD!
Opus: No, Aladdin!
Jasmine: I'm driving the carpet or no more peekin' under the burka.
Mary Poppins: Snacktime! Donald Duck Foie Gras! |
Oh, I remember that! I remember being really miffed when I read it. I mean, seriously? And they call the movie racist |

Princess of Agrabah, I think you need to leave the necromancy to Mozenrath. This thread is from 2005. |

I realize that. I didn't know I wasn't allowed to post in it. I was simply stating that I remembered the comic strip and not being too happy about it when I read it. I am well aware that it was five years ago. If I am breaking any rules then please accept my humblest apologizes. |

There's no rule against it. I think it's just preferred that threads from that long ago stay back there. What's been discussed has been discussed. Bring up something new!
In this case, though, I think it's fine. It was fun to read back anyways. We used to have so many fun conversations. I miss Husse, Jas, and HG. _________________
