Did we ever find out anymore information about Fashir besides being related to the Cyclops Fashoom & once having dated Mirage? I mean what was the deal behind him, and why was he always being so mysterious in the series? Was he supposed to be/represent God or something???

As far as I know, the only facts we're told about Fasir are about his brother, his relationship with Mirage, and that he's over 1000 years old. I feel like they purposely avoided telling us much about him to keep him a mysterious character (and it worked! Wink )

The painting of him 1000 years ago showed him as a young man, so I don't think he's immortal, just very long-lived. His brother being a giant cyclops makes me think he might be some kind of demigod, or the Aladdinverse equivalent. Actually, there are a lot of references to villains that were defeated previously about 1000 years ago; maybe Fasir used to be a hero then like Aladdin is now?

As much as he's set up as Mirage's good counterpart, I don't think he's a "good incarnate" like Mirage is Evil Incarnate; he's just too manipulative and I don't really trust him 100%. (What was turning Jasmine into a rat supposed to accomplish, really?) I almost wonder if instead of instead of both he and Mirage being good and her leaving him when she turned evil, that they were originally both evil and Mirage left him after he became good...

I guess what I'm trying to say is that you can come up with pretty much any theory about him that you want and find some kind of canon justification for it. Laughing

ITA with everything you said. I also strongly feel that Mirage's true/real form before she became evil incarnate was the woman that she "posed" as in the marketplace when she gave Jasmine that lotion in "Eye Of The Beholder".

I've seen a few fanfics that used that premise, so you are definitely not alone in thinking that. Laughing
